Robin L. Ore, the founder of Femtobeam will be speaking at the National Algae Association Conference in Houston, Texas on April 30, 2009. The conference is about the commercialization of algae and the production of oil. Ms. Ore is the inventor of the flat lamp total surface emission lamps and photobioreactors for the controlled, enclosed growth of algae. Due to the nature of her light sources, (lamps), which have a total surface area coverage and high tailored spectrum brightness, there is an even distribution of light throughout the medium of algae cells. The uniform growth rate allows for the harvesting of algae prior to the onset of cell death and the production of toxins, making it the best way to grow algae biomass for any purpose, including oil and gas. She will be presenting her mass balance drawings and demonstrating the prototypes along with her speech, “The Past, Present and Future of Algae Production”. Visit the NAA website for more details.
